Tinnitus- a nature based approach

Living well with tinnitus, a nature based approach. Using evidence and best practice we have developed a tinnitus programme that is grounded in nature.

Based on the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE, Tinnitus: assessment and  management guideline [NG155]), and incorporating tinnitus tools from the Ida Institute we take established protocols for tinnitus management but also draw on research by the University of Derby "Pathways to nature connectedness" and the charity Mind's work on "Five ways to Wellbeing" to provide a holistic approach to tinnitus self care.

We also explore using  nature sounds for sound enrichment. Environmental sounds that have a good emotional association, are often found to be hugely beneficial in reducing anxiety and stress. Sounds of nature can be used for relaxation, thereby reducing the intrusiveness of tinnitus.
